His Holiness Buddha Maitreya was first enthroned at Dema Tsemo University of the Five Shastras in Kham, Dema, Tibet in 2000 by Dema Tulku Jamyang Senge who recognised His Holiness as the reincarnation of Guru Rinpoche - also known as Padmasambhava, the second Buddha who introduced Buddhism to Tibet.
Dema Tulku is the reincarnation of one of the 25 disciples of Padmasambhava. Between 2000 and 2004, His Holiness Buddha Maitreya and The Church of Shambhala Vajradhara Maitreya Sangha supported a major project to rebuild this auspicious monastery during which time $453,110 was raised and donated to support the work.
By September 2003, the new Monastery had been constructed and Dema Tulku invited His Holiness Buddha Maitreya to Tibet for an Enthronement and Inauguration Ceremony (shown above).
